Northern Pastoralists Youths Development Organization
Something special is happening in Marsabit, a region in northern Kenya. Young people and communities are taking matters into their own hands together to secure basic needs and the future of their children and region. Bottom up, self-reliant, in an inspiring way.Augustine Lenamoe, a young peace entrepreneur, started the UBUNTU Centre in 2019 as a support centre to develop ideas for change into projects and start-up. At this moment he is coordinating 9 projects that contribute to peace, education, regreening, water, food and employment of young people and local communities. He carries out the projects in co-creation with the community and with the support of international young people and partners who believe in his vision and initiatives.
Marsabit, a challenging region to grow up, survive, live
Marsabit, a challenging region to grow up, survive, live In Marsabit, most families live on cattle, their milk and skins. They face major challenges in times of drought and even encounter conflict as they move with their livestock in search of water and green pasture. This is why Augustine Orengo Lenamoe, as a young peace entrepreneur, started sports tournaments for peace and subsequently founded the UBUNTU Centre to work together on education, regreening and development of water solutions in Marsabit. Through this website we share about all the projects that Augustine has started in his Centre since 2019 to change the lives and future of the youth and all the people in his community. And we invite people who want to contribute to the basic needs of youth and communities in Marsabit to participate in one of the projects as a knowledge, expertise, equipment or crowdfunding partner. We love to work in the projects with youngsters and partners from all kind of countries! Together we know so much and find solutions.
We Grow Together! With no one left behind.
