Imagine: You have no access to school, internet and personal development. What would happen to you and your live? This is the situation of many youth in Marsabit. Therefore Augustine came up to start his own school in the UBUNU Centre to find out if it would be possible to start education in collaboration with volunteers and 2 paid teachers from the community.
At first he invited women and moms to be educated in the Shepherd School, to learn about English and Math by which they could sell the milk and skins better at the local markets. By the success this projects, the moms decided to bring their children to school. It started with 100 children, now more than 100 other children would like to come to school, as soon as extra classrooms are available.
During the day and evenings, also adults (moms and dads) come to the school after work, to be educated! In 2024 we want to create 2 extra classrooms to invite 200 extra children to come to school. The dream is to create enough space for 1000 children as soon as possible.
